RKW Finland wins 2 EFIA print awards

The RKW Global Business Area “ProMotion” (consumer packaging) has been rewarded twice for outstanding print quality.

The Finnish plant Rosenlew RKW Finland Oy and its repro company Sata-Flexo won the European Flexographic Industry Association’s (EFIA) gold and silver awards. The awarding ceremony took place at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England on March 21st.

RKW received both awards for its multipack shrink film with the print design “Baltika 7” which a Russian brewery uses to package its products.

RKW received the gold award in the category “Flexible Packaging” and the silver award in the category “Best International Print”. A remarkable
success especially considering the strong competition: More than 400 flexoprint designs from all the leading European companies were entered in this year’s competition.

A customized “multiscreen” method from the company Mavoco is
used to print the “Baltika 7” design. Like Sata-Flexo, Mavoco is a Packaging Premedia Group company. Rosenlew RKW Finland and Sato-Flexo have been cooperating for many years. Together they developed flexographic printing processes and both companies are in the forefront of flexographic printing trends and developments.

The EFIA was founded in 1972 by a group of printers to act as the unified voice of flexographic printing industry. EFIA runs an annual
print awards competition culminating in a superb Annual Awards Dinner each Spring.
